Stages of Building Your Custom Swimming Pool
1. Layout & Excavation
With permits secured and the design finalized, our team carefully lays out the pool footprint and begins excavation to shape your new pool.
2. Formwork & Steel Reinforcement
Wood forms are set in place to outline the pool’s exact dimensions. Structural steel rebar is installed according to engineering requirements to provide long-lasting strength.
3. Concrete Shell (Gunite/Shotcrete)
A high-pressure concrete mix is applied over the steel framework to create a durable pool shell built to withstand decades of use.
4. Plumbing Installation
After forms are removed, the surrounding area is backfilled. Plumbing lines are installed and routed to the equipment pad. All lines are pressure-tested to guarantee leak-free performance.
5. Backfill & Compaction
The soil around the pool is compacted and stabilized to ensure a solid foundation and prevent settling over time.
6. Footings
Perimeter footings are dug, formed, and reinforced—most commonly for paver deck installations. Once inspected, concrete is poured to establish a stable base.
7. Tile & Coping
Your selected tile and coping materials are installed, giving your pool its first layer of design and character.
8. Deck Installation
Decking—often sand-set pavers—is installed to create a strong, attractive surface for lounging, entertaining, and walking around the pool.
9. Equipment Setup
Pool equipment, including pumps, filters, and heating systems, is installed and prepared for operation. An electrician completes final wiring connections.
10. Safety Barriers
Fencing or a screen enclosure is added to meet safety codes and provide peace of mind before the pool is in use.
11. Interior Finish
A smooth plaster or specialty finish is applied to the pool interior. Filling begins the same day, usually using the home’s water supply.
12. Start-Up & Balancing
Once filled, the pool systems are started, and the initial water treatment is added. Over the next several weeks, chemistry is carefully balanced, fittings are trimmed, and low-voltage wiring is completed. For best results, we recommend holding off on swimming or heating the pool until this start-up period is complete.
13. Party Time!
Once complete, it’s time to enjoy your new pool oasis—and invite us back to see it in action!
